Blue Zebra Neocaridina Shrimp – Striking Blue Bands

Blue Zebra is a selectively bred Neocaridina davidi variety distinguished by its unusual zebra-like pattern. The supplied image shows a deep blue to near-black body contrasted by vivid lighter blue bands and irregular markings across the abdomen, back and head. Unlike the more uniform colour normally associated with blue Neocaridina, this line is selected for visible pattern development. Individual shrimp can vary considerably in stripe placement, blue intensity and overall coverage, giving each animal a slightly different appearance. Blue Zebra makes a distinctive choice for planted aquariums and Neocaridina collections.

Highlights

• Deep blue to near-black base coloration
• Bright blue zebra-like bands across the body
• Distinctive patterned Neocaridina phenotype
• Stripe placement and intensity vary between individuals
• Strong contrast suited to planted aquarium displays

Care Notes

Blue Zebra has husbandry requirements similar to other Neocaridina davidi varieties. Keep it in a mature, fully cycled freshwater aquarium with stable parameters and good biological filtration. Plants, moss, wood and other textured surfaces provide valuable grazing areas where biofilm can develop. Feed a balanced shrimp diet alongside naturally available algae and biofilm, taking care not to overfeed. Neocaridina tolerate a broader range of water conditions than specialised soft-water Caridina, but sudden changes in temperature or chemistry should still be avoided. Consistent maintenance and stable conditions are preferable to repeatedly adjusting water parameters.
